The rolling country and magnificent stretches of coastline along Cardigan Bay, itself home to the Bottled Nosed Dolphin, have been declared a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Throughout the area Celtic heritage and culture remain strong and whilst English is spoken, Welsh is widely used. Farmland stretches across to the Welsh border towns of Welshpool and Oswestry in the east and north, and to Builth Wells and Brecon to the south. This area offers fine hill walking and the opportunity to glimpse the majestic Red Kite soaring high above farmland and mountains.
